Iphone has 300,000 apps, Android has 100,000 and Bada?
The itune appstore now has 300,000 apps and increasing at 1000 a day. Goggle’s Android market has 100,000 apps and increasing at 10,000 a month. This doesn’t include 3rd party Android apps. And Bada? The last time I counted there are about 1300 apps and they are adding at a paltry rate of a few hundred a month. For such a small app store there are more fart apps, pointless apps and region specific apps than there has a right to be.Wave is a great smart phone, hardware wise but software isn’t so hot. Of course it’s not fair to compare new kid Bada with iphone and Android but at this rate Bada is in danger of being stuck as a niche os. It will take another 1 year to reach 5,000 apps if developer interest doesn’t die off first.
I’m sure those of you who frequent the Bada appstore must be disappointed at the meager offerings week after week. The success of Bada is not going to depend on how great the hardware is but on apps! Samsung need to get its act together to kickstart their app market. They need to sign up big developers like Lonely Planet, arm twist Goggle to port Goggle maps to Bada, hold more developers’ challenges and shorten the judging time. But the most effective step is to distribute the Wave in U.S. Without contribution from developers in that country it’s hard to create a vibrant app market.
Samsung, you need to do something fast. The Bada app market is languishing and this will hamper sales of Wave. It doesn’t appear to be picking up at all.

iOS (Apple)
The operating system was unveiled with the iPhone at the Macworld Conference & Expo on January 9, 2007, and released in June of that year.At first, Apple marketing literature did not specify its name, stating simply that the "iPhone uses OS X".
As of September 1, 2010 (2010 -09-01)[update], Apple's App Store contains more than 250,000 iOS applications, which have collectively been downloaded more than 6.5 billion times, as per a keynote on September 1, 2010.
Android (operating system)
Android has been available as open source since 21 October 2008.
There are currently over 70,000 apps available for Android with some estimates saying 100,000 have been submitted, which makes it the second most popular mobile development environment.
bada (operating system)
Samsung announced the bada platform on 10 November 2009.
In July 2010, Samsung Apps had 300 applications to offer, 70% of them being free. Samsung expects to have 7000 applications in its application store by the end of 2010.

here's a method to detect minor screen damage for samsung s8500 wave which is not usually visible due to brightness and high quality screen.- Switch off your mobile and go to a very dark room.
- Now switch on your mobile.
- Now you'll see a greyish kind of screen before 'Samsung Wave GT-S8500' is displayed.This screen will last only for 1-2 seconds.
- Now a normal (out of the box) wave will show a full grey screen.
- But if you see dark spots or dark line it indicates minor damage due to excessive or hard tapping.
Mine actually has 6-7 small black spots (0.5 mm radius approximate).
If you see a black line (Very rare), it may indicate shift in LED panel due excessive pressure.
- you can also view the grey screen if you press the power button for 2 seconds when switched off. If u press for more than 2 sec the mobile will turn on.
NOTE: This grey screen is visible only for 1-2 seconds and only in a very dark room with no light.
