How to Browse Internet on Samsung Wave using Laptop shared WiFi

Want to surf the Internet through bada samsung wave using your laptop shared Internet connection.

Try these Tips ,

Setting in Wifi Enabled Laptop(Win XP):

1. Goto network connection > Wireless network tab> Preferred network
click Advanced button > Select "Computer-Computer Adhoc network only" and tick "Automatically connect to non-preferred networks"
2. come back to previous window after close.
3. Click "Add" button
 Select "connect even if the network is not broadcasting"
Give Network SSID name say for example "MyWifi"
select Network Authentication" = Open
Data Encryption  = "WEP"
DESELECT "This key is provided for me automatically"
Enter network key e.g. "abcde"
Confirm network key "abcde"
OK, ok,  and come out of the window.
Select your internet connection (in my case I am using TATA photon) and goto Properties > Advanced Tab > Select "Allow other network users to
connect through this computer's Internet connection"
From Home Networking Connection drop down list > Select "Wireless Network Connection"
OK and come out. This will automatically set IP for "Wireless Network connection" to 192.168.0.1 (subnet 255.255.255.0)

Now you can turn ON Wifi in your laptop and can see the hotspot that you created.

Setting in Samsung Wave:

Open Connectivity > Wifi
Browse for available networks and find the hotspot that you created e.g., "MyWifi"
Do not select it first. Before selecting it, enter into config details by tapping on the hotspot name.
Select IP address type and set it to Static. In the next screen set IP = 192.168.0.2 (subnet 255.255.255.0).
Now start the internet connection in Laptop and find the DNS server details by ipconfig/all command.
Enter the same DNS server IPs in the Wave (below static IP details) and set the Gateway IP = 192.168.0.1.

After all the settings are done, Select this Wifi and the green colour tick mark will appear). At this point of time the Hotspot should also
show aquiring network address in your Laptop and finally show Connected !
Now you can ping your phone IP (192.168.0.2) from your Laptop.

Remember: You do not need any Connection profiles (like the GPRS connection profiles e.g., VOdafone Live etc.), so you need not setup any
new connection profile.
DELSELECT Connectivity>"Use packet Data" so that you do not use GPRS anymore.

Now you can straightaway browse internet from Dolphin browser / TikiSurf Browser / Run Samsung Apps / Go to Games&More > and run Opera Mini
From every application , you can access internet w/o GPRS, just using your laptop's shared Wifi internet !!

Running palring and utalk in background Tips.

Easy tutorial to make utalk or palring im apps run in samsung s8500 wave background.

 try the following steps:

(1)Download any one of the palringo or utalk.If you have bada 1.0 then use palringo(Only Portrait Mode)
(2) extract zip file .
(3)Transfer jad and jar file in your phone.Keep them in same place on phone.
(4)Now install software in phone by tapping on jad file (This is important).If by mistake you have installed it using jar file then reinstall again using jad file.
(5)Delete setting.bin file from your phone (Important!!) otherwise palringo will not work in background.If U don't know how to do this click here.
(6) For users who want to install UTalk, they have to also replace png files in "appdb/images" and "/images/app_icon/" with the same one provided in zip file.although this is not important as they are just icon files and splash images.

Using sTune with samsung wave Tips - How to use + screenshots

How to use sTune with wave. 

This tutorial is for peoples who are newbie and dont know how to use sTune with samsung wave to modifiy different files in phone.
there are some peoples who asked me about how to use sTune, thats why i have created this tutorial.

1) Install kies in your pc.if you already had installed it then proceed to next step. kies is necessary for drivers otherwise your computer will not recognize your phone. you dont need to start kies just install it .

2) if u dont have sTune, download the attachment "STune.zip"

3) connect your phone with pc in kies mode.

4)now start sTune . and select SAMSUNG Mobile Modem as shown in figure.and click auto connect.After connections established successfully it will show properties of your phone in the bottom


5)select browser tab.
u can see in following image, sTune window have two parts,Left hand side shows folders and right hand side shows files in the folder selected in left hand side.


6)select AppEx by clicking on it.after clicking on AppEx, it will expand like tree structure.

7)after expanding AppEx , go to User -> Java. and then select Games for any java apps u have installed or select Hidden Games for palringo.in this example i have selected games folder


8)for example now i am going to show you how delete setting.bin file from opera mini.
select opera mini, it will expand and show folders inside opera mini folder and in right hand side u can see the files in the selected folder.



9)Select appdb folder, u can see all files in appdb folder in right hand side.right click on setting.bin file and select delete option.
similarly copy option can be used to copy a file from your phone to your computer.




10)Lets say you want to modify a jad file of installed opera mini application. then browse to the opera mini jad file and select copy options. it will open up a window from where u can choose any location on your computer.select a location(i am going to select Desktop)and press ok.


11)open jad file in a text editor and modify as you want.

12)now to replace jad file on your phone with modified one, just drag the modified jad file on the right hand side of stune window.(make sure u have selected same folder from which u have copied jad file, in this example opera mini).
