how to set up email account - easy tips

1. Press Menu
2. Select My Accounts
3. Choose the type of email account you want to configure . For Gmail, select "Google "
4. Enter your e - mail address and password and click " Next "
5. A new window pops up. Select apply without making any changes.

And ,,

You will need to configure your Gmail for IMAP or POP pushing first before authorization is given to your Wave to accept the pushed mail.

Login to Gmail -> Setting (top right hand corner) -> Forwarding and POP/IMAP -> Check Enable POP for all mail arriving from now on and check Enable IMAP.

You are done with configuring GMail side.

Now, add your google mail account under "My Account".

Enter your email (username will be filled up automatically), then your password.

Next, when you hit the next screen, DO NOT CONFIGURE ANYTHING. Simply "Set".

You're done.

For Gmail, the configuration is
SMTP server: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP port: 587
Secure Connection: TLS

Incoming server type: IMAP4
IMAP4 Server: imap.gmail.com
IMAP4 Port: 993
Secure Connection: SSL

In your Gmail account, go to
Settings > Forwarding and POP/IMAP > IMAP Access > Enable IMAP

For Yahoo,
Incoming (pop3)
pop.mail.yahoo.co.XX
Port: 995
Use SSL

Outgoing(SMTP)
smtp.mail.yahoo.co.XX
Use SSL
Port 465

For all who did not succed:

Use the following guide and you will succeed with push.

1. Delete the previously not working Gmail account in your phone
2. Press Menu
3. Select My Accounts
4. Choose the proper type of email account: Do NOT select "Google", but Exchange ActiveSync!
5. On the next screen fill out the Email address:
do not write yourusername@gmail.com, instead use yourusername@googlemail.com!
6. The username will be typed in automatically
7. Type in the password
8. Press Next
9. Press OK for the activation
10. On the next screen type in the server URL: m.google.com
11. Set Use SSL to ON (button turns green)
12. Press Set (left below)
13. On the next screen set the options you need: Email sync, Calendar sync, Contact sync, Task sync (below is another option in case of conflicts between data on the phone and the server)
14. There are further more options if you press the gear icon (sync: push/manual, push days/hours)
15. Press Done (left below)
16. Wait and see

The first method :

just copy all data from old card to new one from pc.


apps are saved on memory card in other folder.

You cant see apps and games if u connect phone in kies option .

so you have to connect it using memory card option or mass storage .

and then cut all data and paste it on pc.

then change card and copy paste it back .

-under contacts/message, swipe left to message that person
-when messaging, long press the space bar to get shortcuts to punctuations(. , - ? @ !)
-when you view message, you can use multitouch feature to zoom in and out the text message
-swipe left or right to go to next or previous sms message
-tap on the name entered to get the number of that person
Call
-under contacts/message, swipe right to call that person
-to filter/block calls, go to call logs --> select contact --> tap on '...' --> select 'Block Contact' --> select you want to block : 'Call' or 'Message'
-to record a call (depending on region & firmware), during an ongoing call , tap on '...' --> select 'Record Voice'. Record will be stored as .amr file in 'Sounds' folder
Camera
-press the camera button at the right side for quick access to camera or (camcorder)
-in camera mode, click Settings --> Tools and you can set review of photos after a shot is taken to be 'on', 'off' or review for 2 seconds
-press the volume keys to zoom in or zoom out
Internet
-when typing the url, long press the .com to get different variants internet domains (.net, .org, .edu)
Email
-go to Settings --> Applications --> Email --> Email accounts and select a web account to set the download limit to determine the no. of emails to download whenever you sync your web account. You can also set whether to dowload just the Subject or the whole email
General
-under the App store, click on '...' --> Downloads to show a list of apps/games you have downloaded before
-you can turn on/off your keytone by pressing the volume buttons on the left side.
-use the volume rocker (up or down) to scroll up or down long SMS/internet pages
-to take screenshots, press the menu button + lock key simultaneously
-long press the menu button to see task manager
-double press the menu button to access smart search function
-under call logs/music player, long press the tabs and 2 rows of tabs will appear. rearrange the tabs to your preference and long press again to switch back to single row before closing
Music
-When in Album/Genre/Artist/ playlist, you can swipe right to play it all. E.g: When on Artist 1 playlist, you can swipe right to play all Artist 1 songs
-When in all track playlist, you can tap on the album cover to play song without exit the playlist jump to the music player
-Tap on music player while playing to get the status bar and other settings
